NEH 2016!!
I learned last week that the NEH seminar on Arendt, which I direct, will be funded for summer of 2016.
The dates of the seminar are June 26 2016-July 29 2016.
The location will be the beautiful Hudson Valley campus of Bard College, which houses the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and the Humanities.
The Arendt Center is sponsoring it’s eight annual conference, this year on the theme, “Why Privacy Matters.” Dates are October 15-16, 2016. Some great speakers are lined up, including a video talk with Edward Snowden.
If you are in the area, or able to arrange to be ther, perhaps even bringing some students, the conference is always a lively event and a great introduction to Arendt’s continued relevance in our times.
Mean time, I am busy already planning for summer 2016. But first, I must finish an essay I am writing on recent Arendt scholarship for the Los Angeles Review of Books. IN case you missed an earlier essay I wrote for them about Arendt’s female friendships, you can read it here.
